Skin Cancer and Mole Screening

Dr. Skaggs is a Board-Certified Dermatologist. He and his team of professionals are happy to be able to offer SPOT CHECKS and full-body skin exams to our patients at the Kentucky Skin Cancer Center.

Skin Cancer is the most common cancer in the United States.  It is estimated that about 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer, nearly 10,000 Americans are diagnosed every day, and over 5 million are diagnosed every year.

The two most common skin cancers, Basal Cell and Squamous Cell skin cancers, are easily treated if detected early and treated properly.  It is also extremely important to detect melanoma early. The five-year survival rate for people whose melanoma is detected before it spreads to the lymph nodes is 99 percent.  Full-body skin exams are recommended at least once a year for early detection and prevention of skin cancer.

Please call for an appointment if you are ever concerned about a spot on your skin.
